7/1 This Week's Activities

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY WEEKEND! Be safe. Enjoy!

What's going on this week?

As an event connoisseur, remember to =>
  1. Check Facebook Events,
  2. Search Google for "Events near me"
  3. Check feeds/calendars managed by your group(s) and
  4. Join in-person/social media groups to "be in the know".
Otherwise, here's what I could find:

Local:
Our Area:
Road Trip:
  • No road trip this weekend. Short of a trip to a capital (state, US, etc), I can think of no better place to celebrate the Fourth of July, a celebration of home, than with self, family, friends, community and/or nature...wherever they may be.
Mark Your Calendar:
Featured Road Trip:
  • A backyard. Whether it's yours, a friend's, a family member's or Mother Nature's...'tis the season to celebrate and connect in the great outdoors.
Challenge:
  • Photo/video time - Grab footage of patriotism: flower arrangements, holiday landscaping, snacks, decorated bicycles, fireworks, red-white-blue accessories, parades, flags, people, pets, etc. Share your photos/videos to celebrate those who celebrate the country we call home.

Gearing up for July 4th (USA)

[Click on the links to get the full effect.]

JULY 4th - INDEPENDENCE DAY

Are you starting to get in the mood for Fourth of July?

Buy your fireworks. Help make patriotic bunting to decorate the house. Grab a good book from your library (ask the librarian for suggestions). And, make some red, white and blue Jello-Jigglers to tie it all together.

Fourth of July is often a time of heritage crafts and imaginative play. It's also a time to recall some of the times when American ingenuity opened the world to new ideas.

Case in point: The Wright brothers. A couple of guys who were known for crashing something that was supposed to fly...until the day that the crash didn't happen and they made history.

Create this airplane with basic supplies.

Or grab a piece of paper and see how your paper airplane skills match up.
